Over my 16 years working with people and families, I’ve kept training and specialising across different theoretical approaches, to better understand human behaviour and the role our bonds and attachment play in shaping our inner world and our personality.
My foundations are in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and over time — after coming to understand how deeply our experiences are held in the body — I brought that understanding into my clinical practice, specialising in Trauma, Dissociation and Psychosomatic Disorders (including eating disorders) through EMDR therapy. The NS School of Psychotherapy has supported me in integrating cognition and emotion clinically, with a strongly experiential approach to the therapeutic process.
I’ve always been drawn to working with young people — I learned a great deal early on working with adolescents with conduct disorders in the youth justice system, and later in early childhood intervention. For the past 6 years I’ve specialised in working with adolescents and adults.
What I find most motivating and rewarding, day to day, is supporting the parents of the teenagers I work with as they rebalance their family system towards healthier, more functional ways of relating — alongside direct work with adults on anxiety and mood-related symptoms, grief, motherhood and complex trauma, all seen through the lens of attachment.
